Bank of America Business Advantage Travel Rewards

Dec 23, 2023 By Triston Martin

This credit card is a terrific choice for owners of small businesses who often travel since it provides substantial rewards for no additional business annually. And the rewards it offers might be the greatest in its category for customers who hold a specific amount of money in qualified Bank of America® and Merrill business accounts.

Pros

  • There is no annual charge.
  • Bonus for new cardholders is available here.
  • There is no limit to the rewards.
  • No costs for transactions with foreign countries.
  • Intro APR period.

Cons

  • Requires good credit.

Key Features

  • Card type: Small business.
  • Annual fee: $0.
  • Sign-up bonus: You may get a $300 statement credit for travel or dining after making at least $3,000 in net purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account, which will earn you 30,000 online bonus points.
  • APR: Free of charge introductory APR on purchases for the first nine billing cycles, after which a variable APR ranging from 16.49% to 26.49% will apply.
  • Foreign transaction fees: None.

Rewards

  • You will get 1.5 points for every dollar spent on everything you buy.
  • When you make travel purchases via Bank of America® Travel Center, you will earn three points for every dollar you spend.
  • You may redeem your points for cash rewards, a credit that can be used toward future travel purchases, or travel booked via Bank of America®. When redeemed for a credit against a travel statement, each point is worth 1 cent; however, when redeemed for cash back, each point is only worth 0.6 cents.

Reasons Why You Should Consider Applying For This Card

More Points

To maximize the benefits of, you need a minimum combined balance of $20,000 in eligible Bank of America® and Merrill Business Accounts. If you do, you may start applying for the Bank of America® Preferred Rewards for Business program. This opens the door to many advantages, including bonus points for using the card.

Depending on the program level you are eligible for, you will get different additional rewards. For example, if you have reached the Platinum Honors level, the highest possible tier, you will receive 75% more points on each transaction. That works to 2.62 points for every dollar spent, with an additional 5.25 points available at Bank of America® Travel Center for each dollar spent there. Members of the Gold category get a bonus of 25%, while Platinum members receive a bonus of 50%.

Versatile Rewards

No matter which airline or hotel chain you choose to stay at, you'll be able to use the points you earn with this card to pay for a broad range of travel transactions you make with the card. Each point may be redeemed for one cent when redeemed in this manner. You can redeem rewards for various travel costs with Bank of America®, in addition to airline, hotel stays, and vehicle rentals. You may, for instance, use points to pay for the rental of a recreational vehicle (RV), a stay at a campsite, a cruise, or even a visit to a circus or zoo.

Reasons Why You Should Consider Getting A Different Card

Higher Rewards Rate

Although excellent, the rewards rate on Bank of America® Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard® credit card is not the best in the business unless you are a member of Preferred Rewards for Business. Other cards provide a higher rate of rewards in general.

For instance, if you use an American Express credit card with the name The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card, you will not be charged an annual fee and will earn two Membership Rewards points for every dollar spent on the first $50,000 you spend in a calendar year. After that, you will earn one point for every dollar spent. Conditions apply. The card also comes with an introductory APR deal, which is as follows: 0% intro APR on Purchases for the first year, followed by an ongoing APR range of 17.49%-25.49% variable. However, since this card charges a fee for transactions made in foreign countries, customers who often travel abroad may consider using a different card.
